The purpose of self-care training is to help employees recognize their own stressors and stress reactions in the workplace environment at an early stage, to prevent and cope with mental disorders. The goal is for participants to develop a strong mentality toward stress.
Everyone worker has some kind of stress. In order to avoid mental illness and to keep people working in a healthy state of mind,it is important for employees to first take good care of themselves (i.e. self-care).
While it is important to help others deal with their stress, most of the time stress is something that won't be noticed by other people.
Participants will think about their stress by asking themselves when they are stressed out the most and how they react to it. Then, they will learn how to avoid or balance out stress.
Self-Care can prevent stress by noticing it in advance.
Knowing how to manage stress in general is important even if one has not experienced stress at work yet. The knowledge will come in handy when stress happens in the future.
